Nilfisk GMI 1000 Watt Motor-Head Now Obsolete. Previously Used in Older GM Machines
This fully serviceable motor, was for a long time, used in the Tellus and Nilfisk GM90 and GS90 and the Nilfisk and Tellus GM80 and the Nilfisk and Tellus GA71 GS81 and GM81 industrial vacuum cleaner and the and the Nilfisk GM82 vacuum cleaners.

I strongly advise if stripping the motor down, for a successful replacement of parts, a Nilfisk Jig should be used.
SAFETY WARNING! All electrical parts should ONLY be fitted by an electrically COMPETENT person.
You can take the opportunity in all models, except the GS83 to upgrade, to the more powerful, Nilfisk and Tellus GMP motor heads 12112153
However, where the application is for use with fine dust, it's suggested the 800 Watt Nilfisk and Tellus GSP motor head 12108153 is used.
The reason for suggesting the use of a less powerful motor, would be because it will reduce the chance of the filters and dustbag to clog up, preventing the flow of air through the filter, leading to possibly overheating the motor. The dust migrating through the filter into the motor would be reduced too.
Where a client has a Nilfisk GMI (Industrial with double pole switch) or GMD (Domestic with single pole switch) and they are still working, with smooth commutation at the carbon brushes, they can be re-furbished here in Perth Western Australia as we have a supply of salvaged parts.
