Exactly the right part

Helped give another life to a perfectly good vacuum which was otherwise destined for e-waste.

The original switch failed with the contacts held open by plastic which had got hot and soft.

Dirty corroded contacts, or contacts not correctly current rated for the task?

The sobering thought is that this possibly says the original design selection of this switch by Nilfisk was poor. This possibility would appear to be supported if TVD find it commercially worthwhile to stock and supply this item. So this replacement is also highly likely to fail in the same manner!

The Vacuum Doctor

Hi Ian,

Thanks for your review.

However, I think you've been very very disappointingly harsh on the $4.60 product. Both the original switch, and the original budget priced vacuum cleaner.

I've been repairing machines with these type of switches for 30 years, and we probably sell one every two months, so I'd hardly say they had a massive failure rate. It's usually in very dusty situations with the commercial equipment, or being rapidly switched ON/OFF.

However, your review is valid to you, and no doubt the review and response will help others seeking the product.
