Thanks for your review. The fact you had an unsatisfactory result for what you wanted to achieve is still appreciated by us.

What I would suggest is you flush your drain with hot water.

I had this at my first home, and it seemed to be grease and fat.

Despite avoiding putting this material down the drain, I came to the conclusion, because we uses a very efficient dishwasher, it didn't put much water down the drain, and grease and fat built up in the trap.

I flushed this "fat-berg" out with hot water from the tap via a hose I could shove down the drain and right into the trap.

At first I had to do it each month, then every 6 weeks, then a couple of times each year, and then never.

Once I found how well flushing the drain with mad hot water works, I had a plumber install a hot tap by the kitchen drain on each house I live in, and I've not had an issue as serious as that, since.
