Nilfisk design

It was precisely the correct part for my machine and it works as well as it used to.

There is a design feature, the ability to control the suction at the bent piece, which has the potential to weaken the structure especially when the user has their hand behind that control. That amplifies the pressure on that point when floor surface resistance is encountered.
