Nilfisk and Tellus GMI and GMD Vacuum Cleaner Motor Aluminium Rotary Fan Element
Nilfisk GMI and GMD Motor Aluminium Rotary Fan Element Discontinued in the 90s, these are the last few new fans left. They are sold EACH.
Built for the GMI motor, they are slightly thicker than the old 21254500 fan fitted in the old Nilfisk and Tellus GAD and GAE motor and GSD motor and the early Nilfisk GMI and GMD MOTOR FAN UNITS
The GMI and GMD motors were fitted in the Nilfisk GM80 and the Nilfisk GM90 and GS90 and the Nilfisk and Tellus GA71 GS81 and GM81 industrial vacuum cleaner and the Nilfisk GM82 and the Nilfisk GM625 Industrial Vacuum Cleaner
One of these fans will fit without problem in all versions, however, a pair MAY contact the stationary fans and hence lead to untimely failure.
IT'S UP TO THE PURCHASER TO DECIDE. NO WARRANTY APPLIES we certainly fit them to customers machines if we repair them to this level!
SAFETY WARNING! All electrical parts should ONLY be fitted by an electrically COMPETENT person.
Service Note:
Clean the carbon out of the curved blades with a bottle brush in soapy water. If you haven't got a bottle brush, or a straw cleaning brush, you can use an artists brush (just make sure the artist doesn't know it's you!)
The blades sometimes break in half and the bottom fan might go through the top set of blades, taking them out!
If debris keeps on going upwards through the fans, say if a screw migrates up from the motor through all the fans, you can end up with what looks like “molten aluminium” under the diffuser on top of the motor!
When you have the fans dismantled, put them on the bench, and with the handle of a medium screwdriver, tap the tabs that secure the curved fan blades to tighten them up to each side of the fan plates.
These GM fans went through several “beefing up” operations, where they changed the fans and the shim that fits over the split copper ring on the shaft. The difference in the shim, was tiny.
There is a stationary intermediate fan as well, and also the fan top, however, we haven't been asked for these yet.
As they're light, maximise the saving on postage and buy some of the related parts below, such as dustbags and the filters or a new floor tool.
At the moment, standard postage within Australia is capped at a maximum of $25!
